Can a 16 year old start a program for autism advocacy?

alright so helping children with autsim is my life, i volunteer every chance i get and study the disorder constantley and have a really great idea for a program but dont know if it will work because im only 16 and i dont think parents wll be willing to leave their disabled child in the hands of a 16 year old. will they?
