Why won't my Android Samsung Infuse connect to my wi-fi?

I have connected an iPod once so why can't i connect my new phone. It can scan it but it ends up asking me over and over again for the password even when i put it in right. I have a small data plan so i wont be able to use it much without iPod. Please help, the phone is great overall except this flaw.
