Is 15 pound test ok to use In the ocean on shore or on a pier?

Sure, use to go fishing in Florida when I was growing up. Dad rigged us with 7 pound test line. We fished for trout & flounder, plus the occasions mackerel or shark. Use an open bail spinning rod.
